development through play
Why Sensory Messy Play Matters
Messy play isn’t just fun; it builds your child’s brain, confidence, and creativity in ways that screens and worksheets simply can’t. Through hands-on exploration, children learn naturally, strengthen important skills, and develop a love for learning.

Boosts Brain Development
Messy play activates all the senses and builds strong neural connections that support early learning.
Kids experiment, problem-solve, and explore cause-and-effect, all key foundations for reading, math, and language.
It’s learning through play at its absolute best.

Improves Fine Motor Skills
Scooping, pouring, pinching, squeezing, and stirring; every activity strengthens the small muscles in the hands and fingers.
These skills are essential for writing, drawing, dressing, cutting, and everyday independence.
Messy play builds coordination in a fun, natural, pressure-free way.

Encourages Confidence & Creativity
Messy play gives children the freedom to explore without “right or wrong.”
They express themselves, try new things, and build confidence as they create their own little world.
It’s a safe space to imagine, experiment, and discover what they’re capable of.

About us
Two Moms on a Mission
We’re Jasmari and Marcelle, two Cape Winelands moms, creatives, and sensory play lovers who met by chance as stall neighbours at a local market. One conversation turned into a friendship, a shared vision, and a partnership that just made sense.
With Speejl Sensory Messy Play and Marcelle’s beloved Smudge Slime & Die Speelhoekie joining forces, we’re building something bigger and more magical for your little ones. Our mission is simple: to create playful, creative, and connection-filled experiences where children can learn, explore, and simply be themselves joyfully.
This is the heart behind Speejl: two moms, one dream, and a whole lot of sensory fun.
